VINCI Energies acquires low code specialist Gillz

This acquisition allows VINCI energy to reinforce the Axians portfolio with intelligent app, data and analytics services. Axians is the VINCI Energies brand for ICT solutions.

Today, VINCI Energies announced its acquisition of Gillz, the smart software and low code specialist. This acquisition allows VINCI Energies to reinforce the Axians portfolio with intelligent app, data and analytics services. Axians is the VINCI Energies brand for ICT solutions.

Gillz is a rapidly growing company since 2017, which supports organisations in the automation of processes which interact with end users. They do so through deployment of low code application development in collaboration with partners Mendix and Microsoft.

Bart Evers, Director of Gillz: “Our merge with the Axians low code team provides us with opportunities for further growth in this market. We recognise important opportunities particularly in industry, in the years to come. The strong market position of the Axians brand enables us to help even more organisations digitalise and accelerate their business.”

Gillz devices, develops and optimises intelligent business applications in the form of mobile apps, portable and platforms. The objective is that these are all optimally geared to the working methods of end users, in order that they can be as productive as possible. Data-driven operations are key here; from video applications in healthcare to the control of industrial equipment using a smartphone or tablet. The deployment of low code application platforms allows quick and agile operation, in which functions are quickly visible, and which is completed in co-creation with the users.

“The expertise of Gillz is well-geared to Axians, whereby data integration, analytics and IoT have been part of our portfolio for many years. More than 275 professionals work on smart applications in healthcare, industry, retail, trade, mobility and many other segments!” explains Edwin van Merriënboer, Director at Axians.

Low code applications, such as Mendix and Microsoft Power Apps render application development accessible to all. There is no need for knowledge of a programming language. This ensures that a development process can be considerably accelerated and that the developed application is readily available for real-life use.

Axians and Gillz are already jointly working on AppVenture. This is a service which helps organisations work more efficiently through the use of intuitive and truly intelligent apps. We devise, build and learn together, and experience how end users can make optimum use of enriched data. Together, Axians and Gillz are undertaking AppVenture together with end users.

Bob van der Panne, Commercial Director of Gillz: “Our target is to provide all clients with customised services and to jointly discover how to accelerate their business. Our focus here lies on the employees, whom we provide with intuitive and intelligent applications in order that they can make better decisions and conduct their work even more efficiently. Moreover, we believe it’s important that our clients have the necessary knowledge and expertise in-house, and therefore support them in developing their own low code capability, via our Academy. The best part of low code platforms is that the development of applications is much less technical in nature, which makes it accessible to many more employees with specific business knowledge. It helps reduce the gap between business and IT.”

Rob van Kaathoven, Managing Director of VINCI Energies– Axians: “Together, we form an effective team with a great deal of knowledge and expertise, with which we help ambitious organisations to digitalise their processes, with a human touch!” This acquisition is fully in line with the VINCI Energies strategy to support Axians in its further development of intelligent apps, data and analytics services. In the near future, Gillz will continue under the Axians flag.
