Ethics and compliance

Our business units constantly strengthen their focus on responsibility, compliance, and respect for dignity and individual rights to ensure that all our employees uphold our standards of integrity, probity, and transparency.

As a network organisation, VINCI Energies works in, for and throughout a constantly changing world. To be able to work in this world effectively and sustainably, we have to comply with all kinds of laws, rules, standards, and values. That requires good corporate governance or proper management in other words. Corporate social responsibility and corporate sustainability are closely interwoven in this. Our clients, current and future employees, and other stakeholders believe it is important that we have a proven track record in these areas.

Ethics

Our business units constantly strengthen their focus on responsibility, compliance, and respect for dignity and individual rights to ensure that all our employees uphold our standards of integrity, probity, and transparency. The guidelines of the VINCI Group underpin our ethical conduct.

The guidelines of the VINCI Group underpin our ethical conduct

By being in the vanguard of complying with national and international standards that are being tightened up continuously, we act in accordance with the guidelines of the VINCI Group including the Code of Ethics and Conduct. It describes the principles of our corporate ethics that guide the conduct of all business units and employees in all circumstances. It is backed up by an Anti-corruption code of conduct that is designed to be more practical.

The VINCI Manifesto, which was published in 2012, sets out eight commitments of VINCI and VINCI Energies in the area of compliance and sustainable development in respect of its stakeholders.

Charting the risks of every business unit

Ethics and compliance are the cornerstone of our management model and our business operations. They are an integral element of all our processes, from mapping the risks to audits by third parties, including tender-review procedures, acquisition audits, and in-house whistle-blower’s systems. The annual internal audit campaign ensures proper implementation. Ethics and compliance are also part of special management-training modules for directors, business unit managers, and supervisors.

The ComEth application

The ComEth application helps our business unit managers to track the transfer and acceptance of the Code of Ethics and Conduct by their employees and compliance with the Anti-corruption code of conduct. Business unit managers can also use the application to track the roll-out of the anti-corruption e-learning training. This training emphasises the importance of ethical business, integrity, and the prevention of conflicts of interests.

Our guidelines

Our rapidly evolving organisation of business units makes it important that we set out our corporate ethical principles in a formal manner. That is the principal aim of the following documents.
