Education offers prospects for the future and equal opportunities for everyone

The kids go back to school again

The summer holidays are over, and children are returning to school in all regions of the Netherlands. This applies not only to primary school children, but also to students who have started in our business schools.

The Verkerk Training Center: this business school offers a mix of theoretical and practical training, aimed at young people with an interest in technology. This training, in collaboration with the DaVinci College in Dordrecht, includes both practical experience and theoretical knowledge, with personal guidance and attention for its students.

The VINCI Energies brands Actemium, VanderLinden and VerAutomation have also taken the initiative to start a business school in collaboration with ‘de Koningsacademie’ in Brabant. Here, youth can follow training courses and obtain a recognized (technical) MBO level 2 or 3 diploma. Koning Willem 1 and VINCI Energies signed an agreement for this collaboration this summer.

At our brand Axians, Young Professionals get to know themselves thoroughly during a two-year program, and explore how to make the most of their talents.

VINCI Energies supports UNICEF** to provide digital education to children in Brazil, East Timor and Benin

Access to education is highly common in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, this does not apply to all children in the world. Worldwide, 244 million* children do not attend preschool, primary or secondary education — while this is the start of ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.

VINCI Energies has been supporting UNICEF** France to provide children in Benin, Brazil and East-Timor with high-quality education through access to digital technology. These programs, implemented by UNICEF in collaboration with the ministries of education in each country, provide access to the Internet and computer equipment for students aged 6 to 18 and will be carried out in 56 schools, benefiting 400 teachers and more than 20,000 students. Children will be able to develop their own digital skills, access learning programs and open themselves up to unlimited possibilities for the future.

All business units within VINCI Energies contribute to this effort.
