VINCI Environment Award for Axians’ Smart City: better quality of life based on data

Neighbourhood residents can together create a more environmentally friendly and socially inclusive neighbourhood using a platform and infrastructure in which they capture, store, manage and release the necessary data. Based on their data, they can generate, share and consume energy smarter and more sustainably and also organise zero-emission transport, for example through electric car sharing. This platform was developed by two business units of Axians and architecture firm UNSense. The LivingLab thus created will be commissioned in early 2022 within the ‘100 Homes Project’, part of Brandevoort neighbourhood in Helmond. More than 50 different types of households will live there and use the LivingLab. Axians won a VINCI Environment Award for this Smart City project.
