VINCI Energies Netherlands receives the CO2 awareness certificate level 5

Eus de Haas: ‘This certificate is an important milestone in our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions within our own organisation and in the chain.’

In the Netherlands we aim to reduce our greenhouse-gas emissions by 40% by 2030 versus 2018 for scope 1 and 2, and by 20% for scope 3 (versus 2019), with the ultimate aim to be CO2 neutral by 2050 in accordance with the Paris Climate Accord. We also support our clients in their search for better energy efficiency. We encourage our clients and suppliers to adopt our environment-friendly approach.

Our aim is to be pragmatic and to opt for the most effective solutions – with an eye for the latest technologies – that are best suited to our clients’ context. We do the same in the chain, by working on energy-efficient solutions for our clients together with partners and suppliers. In the Netherlands, we use the CO2–Performance ladder to test where we are and where our action points are for CO2 awareness actions in our business operations.

Eus de Haas, General Counsel and Corporate Development Director: ‘Thanks to this CO2 Awareness certificate level 5, VINCI Energies Netherlands and all business units and brands are certified at the highest possible level of the CO2 Performance ladder. It is proof of our focus on the environment. This certificate is an important milestone in our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions within our own organisation and in the chain, but it is certainly not a final target. We continue to monitor our targets via new chain analyses and the establishment of collaborative agreements with partners in order to gain even more insight into CO2 emissions of products and projects, in order to take any action required to reduce CO2 emissions.’
