A major holiday-park organisation with more than 110 parks in nine European countries works constantly on making its parks more sustainable. The Axians ‘pay-per-use’ model, which integrates smart meters for accurate measurement of consumption in holiday bungalows, helps the organisation with better control of its energy consumption, which in turn contributes to its environmental targets.
As a first pilot, Axians’ solution was implemented at a holiday park in Denmark, where it is a statutory requirement. The Axians ‘pay-per-use’ model creates awareness amongst the visitors to the park in respect of their consumption of gas, water, and electricity. Visitors pay exactly the energy they consume. They obtain more insight into their own ecological footprint. The effect is that in each bungalow visitors consume less gas, electricity, and water. A first successful pilot for this holiday-park organisation with the ‘pay-per-use’ model.
