Sea levels are rising, which made it essential to reinforce and renovate the Afsluitdijk. This project started in 2018 and will be completed in 2025. Levvel, which designed, built and financed the reinforcements, will maintain the dyke for 26 years. As part of this project, Aqualectra designed and built the energy distribution. For this project it supplies the main distributors, subdistributors, transformers and UPS systems.
